The Tallmon family has been working in the jewelry industry for more than 55 years. In 1948, George Tallmon opened Tallmon’s Jewelry in Mitchell, Nebraska. George became well known in the valley for his work ethic and honesty, as well as his repair skills. Those traits served him well as he created a business that would survive the test of time.
In 1962, George formed a partnership with his oldest son Bill and opened a store in Scottsbluff. Bill added new skills and education from the Gemological Institute of America to further expand the business. A recipient of multiple awards, as well as a published author, he is widely regarded as an expert in the industry.
Carrying on the philosophy of Tallmon’s is the addition of Bill’s son Michael. Michael has earned his Accredited Jewelry Professional certification from GIA, and also the Certified Management Professional from JA. In 2003 he was a finalist for the Outstanding Graduate of the Year Award, recognizing him as one of the top students in the nation.
